Enrique Miguel Iglesias se narodil slavnému zpěvákovi Juliu Iglesiasovi a modelce Isabele Preyslerové přesto Enrique nebyl zhýčkaný a nevyužíval svého postavení. Vyrůstal stejně jako ostatní jeho spoluvrstevníci nijak výjimečným životem.
Po roce studia obchodní univerzity v Miami se nakonec rozhodl pro vlastní pěveckou dráhu. Začínal v roce 1995 pod pseudonymem Enrique Martinez, který měl přicestovat do Španělska
Jeho pravé jméno si ho všude našlo, a proto když odjel natáčet své první španělsky zpívané album pojmenoval jej Enrique Iglesias. Po natočení následoval obrovský úspěch, prodalo se více než 6 miliónů nosičů a Enrique získal ocenění Grammy. Předtím, než natočil první anglicky zpívané album se stal známým především v latinském světě.
Během krátké doby se stal natolik oblíbeným a hledanou popstar, že kamkoliv při svém světovém turné přijel, měl všechny stadióny vyprodané. Jeho alba se začaly prodávat po miliónech, získal mnoho ocenění (Grammy, American Music Awards, Premios Lo Nuestro) a dokonce se stal slavnější, než jeho rodiče. Nejvíce jej proslavil song "Bailamos", který natočil pro soundtrack k filmu Willa Smithe "Wild Wild West", song se ihned stal hitem číslo 1 téměř na všech rádiích po celém světě. Své první anglicky zpívané album "Enrique" se stalo dvojnásobně platinové v USA a platinové nebo zlaté ve 32 zemích po celém světě.
Enrique natočil alba ve čtyřech jazycích španělsky, anglicky, portugalsky a italsky. Oblibu si získal také na Taiwanu, Rusku a Středním východě. Mimo zpíváni pronikl do světa filmu, když si po boku Antonia Banderase, Salmy Hayekové a Johnnyho Deppa zahrál ve filmu "Once Upon A Time In Mexico".
V poslední době byl často vídaný s ruskou tenistkou a modelkou Annou ze Střední Ameriky.
